Gwendolyn Cody-Davis, who likes to be called “Cody,” is a dynamic servant-leader of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She accepted God’s call into service in 1992, at Living Word Christian Fellowship in Naples Italy. Her initial spiritual leaders during this “ministry call” was Pastors Henry Badie Jr., Henry Hawkins, and Elder Larry Morris. Presently she serves as a licensed and ordained Elder at Blessed Hope Community Church (BHCC) in Prince George, Virginia, under the anointed leadership of Bishop C.E. Wiley, Senior, and Pastor Amelia J. Wiley.
She is a native of Thomasville, Georgia and a product of the Thomasville City Schools. While in high school, Cody entered into a romance, which God has since transformed into a 42-year (and counting) marriage with her best friend and husband, Randy Davis. Lovingly, she refers to him as her African King!
Cody is a graduate of Averett University in Danville, Virginia, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2007. She also earned a Master of Business Administration from Averett University in 2011.
Cody’s hobbies include writing, reading, decorating, shopping, listening to many genres of music, exercising, traveling, and she also enjoys Broadway plays. Her principal gifts to the body of Christ are encouraging, teaching, and motivating. At BHCC, Bishop Wiley recognized her effective and simplistic teaching style and appointed both she and Randy to lead the church’s New Members Ministry.
She has been privileged to speak at various women retreats, conferences, seminars, prison ministries and worship services in the United States and in Europe. In addition, Cody has broad experience as an event planner and host of spiritual retreats for Women.
As a civil servant, Cody has over 30 years in the Federal Government. Currently, she is a Customer Account Specialist at the Defense Logistics Agency, at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
Inspirationally, the focal point of her messages are the many hurt people of the world--both saved and unsaved. She is totally convinced that if God has no hands, but our hands, and if He has no feet, but our feet, who is going to lend a hand, or who is going to stoop down to pick up a hurt brother or a sister? Who has that kind of compassion and love, if not us, who? If not now, when? Through the power of the Holy Spirit, Cody is able and willing to serve God’s people.
Cody currently resides with her husband in Chester, Virginia. They are the parents of two wonderful adult sons, Ryan, a beautiful daughter-in-love, Kiandra, an adorable grandson Amir. Youngest son, Reagan, and another beautiful daughter- in-love, Jessica.
